My life in California seems to be many different lives in a same place. Some of the memories that I have collected in these past five years seem already so distant, and somehow unfamiliar, that is, like if that was another person, like if those memories did not belong to me; however, they are mine! My memories belong to me; they have formed me, changed me, and thus, what it is true, is that I am not the same, I am different and hope to keep evolving in my everyday.
During my time in Palo Alto I have been blessed by meeting good, interesting, smart, and some times, odd people; what I love the most is that it has given me a range of different experiences, good and difficult ones. Over all, it has taught me that generally interactions and relationships are a result of the circumstances, and it makes me immensely happy to know that everybody has a good heart (even when sometimes you have to dig dipper to find it).
But above all the changes in my life, there was one, there was an encounter that came to change my life, that came to want me to be better, that brought happiness in a form that I didn’t know before. One night, that was no different of any other, I met Kevin. Six years and thousand experiences after we are embarking on a new adventure together.
We are leaving everything behind to explore the world!!
So, this is a good moment to say that this is not a traveling blog, or meant to give advice about places to visit. I am not making a formal critic of food, hotels or the sort. My idea, while starting this blog, is more focused on sharing the coming year with people who loves us and want to know what we are up to, but if you find it interesting you are more than welcome to explore around 🙂
Lastly, as the feeling of leaving Palo Alto, and what I called home for the last five years gets me a bit melancholic, and as life changes; I want to share some of the amazing places I visited and activities I enjoyed while here.
I am specially fond of this sculpture because sometimes to take a decision is good to know that you have already been at the gates of hell and you still here. The Gates of Hell is a monumental sculptural group work by French artist Auguste Rodin that depicts a scene from «The Inferno», the first section of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy

To arrive to Prisoner’s Island at Channel Islands we drove 6 hours, stay over in a hotel for a night and then took a ferry for about 2 hours. Once on the Island, we walked about 5 hours to get to our camping spot.

More camping! this was our camping spot in Mono Lake, CA.
Mono Lake is another out-of-this-world place. Mono Lake is a large, shallow saline soda lake. The lake is in the middle of the desert and as the is no much wind its calm waters reflect the blue skies and the salty columns.
This are in California was also formed by volcanic activity and you can walk on black sand beaches and mountains, which is no recommended in the middle of the day due to the high temperatures that are increased by the black sand. Mono Lake , CA.
Our last serious camping, so far, was in Death Valley. We were allowed to camp in the wilderness. I was nervous since I was able to hear the coyotes at night and there is no way to use your phone. At the end, we had an experience and sunrise in the desert is indescribable.
The racetrack was one of the biggest mysteries for scientist until 2013. Until that year nobody could explain how this huge rocks were able to move and to live its mark on the floor. – Death Valley, CA
I turns out, that as with everything in life, there aremany circumstances that have to come together to make the rocks slide forward. It turns out is a combination of wind and ice. For a complete explanation just google «racetrack Death Valley»
